This week we’ve slightly modified the karma algorithm in order to penalize those users that are less active or with incomplete profiles. Please don’t worry if you find that your karma is now a little lower 
Remember that the ‘karma’ is the way we measure the goodness of each user. This way, the higher the user karma, the better his reputation at soZiety. We calculate your ‘karma’ at least once a week. It increases when you get a positive vote from other users, and it decreases when a user gives you a negative vote.
It is a simple and easy way to discrimine the best soZieters among us
Skype 3.8 beta has been launched.
We hope it to include improvements in the presence information system, so users shown as online in soZiety (those marked with a little green Skype bullet) are really online
It is still beta, so use with caution.
Inactive users have been cleaned up. We hope this measure helps to provide a better user experience when looking for an active user.
Now we are 9450 and counting again !!
Some users ask us why they have to use Skype instead of MSN Messenger:
* Both are available for free.
* Both are propietary.
* Both are very intuitive and easy to use.
* Both allow audio and video conferences.
* Both have millions of users all around the world (Skype has 245 million users, not bad)
But the point here is the voice quality. Skype voice quality is much better, and if you want to practice a language, that truly makes the difference.
Don’t believe me. You have to download Skype and try it for yourself.
Anyway, if you think you have a better alternative… please, let us know !

Now you can add the sign language to your languages list. You can specify the concrete sign language (American, British…) on your profile description.
Using a webcam and the high quality video that was introduced in the Skype 3.6 release (download), now you can communicate with other people using not voice but manual communication, body language and lip patterns.

Please UPGRADE IT as it fixes a critical bug that sometimes was showing offline soZety users as online, thus making not as easy as it should be to contact other sozieters.
It adds other improvements (like high quality video calls !!) and changes as explained in the release notes
